Today at work, I had the task to recreate a My Little Pony Centerpiece using the items we had in the store. I really thought it was going to be impossible. We already printed out the pony that we needed but I had to cut out foam paper to stick it to and syrofoam to use as a base. Here are some pictures to show you what I used and how I used it.
I cut out a piece of styrofoam from a block that we had in the store. The easiest way for me was just to saw it off with scissors.
I used this aqua color border to wrap around the block.
Since the border was scalloped it showed some of the white edges of the foam. I wrapped the border around the foam 3 times to hide the top white edges
This was the result. I liked the finished look of doing that.
I used a total of 6 sheets of each color to complete 2 centerpieces. I folded the tissue paper about 4 times and traced a circle using the border that was still in the roll.
As you can see, the circles are as wide as the base, which is what you want because it makes it look more fluffier.
I used pink and yellow tissue paper.
Before you start gluing the tissue paper, poke a hole in the center of the foam. This is where your character will be placed.
I used a Sharpie to give me a bigger fluff. You can use a pencil but the fluff will be much tighter.
Add hot glue to the bottom tip of the paper and stick it to the base
Just follow around the edge of the foam until you are back to the beginning . The first few pieces might look weird but that's normal. It will look pretty once you finish.
This is the finished result
I had to use adhesived foam paper, so there was no room to make mistakes. We only had 2 prints of the pony and we needed 2 centerpieces.
I wrapped a plastic balloon stick with ribbon to make it look cuter
I then hot glued the stick to the pony
I put hot glue in the hole that I made earlier and stuck the stick in there. I put more hot glue around the base of the straw and held it in place until it dried to avoid a crooked centerpiece
After the glue is dry, simply glue about 4-6 more tissue paper to cover up the center.
And...this is the finished result.
The one in the right was the one I used to copy from. The person who made that one used a piece of wood as the base. She also had wider unscalloped border which she wrapped only once around the wood. Instead of using foam paper she used Styrofoam.
You can use any character you want to use and any color. For example you can use black border and red and blue tissue paper for a Spiderman theme. These are cute to use at birthday centerpieces for the tables. If time allows make enough for each guest to take home as a small thank you for coming to the party.

It feels weird not posting a picture of anything on my blog. These two guys here are the loves of my life!! They both love me, understand me and make me open my eyes and heart to trust God when things look and feel uncertain.
Today was a very blessed day for me. I turned 37 years young today. I felt very fortunate for this years hardships and blessing. God is good all the time All the time God is good!
Today I spent it with my son. My husband is working out of town for a while and even though I missed him not being with us, Alex and I had a great day.
We decided to go to the "fancy" mall today which is about 30 minutes away which is not far at all but I just got so used to driving 10 minutes to our local mall.
Our first stop was to Build-A-Bear to buy Alex the new TMNT Build-A-Bear. Unfortunately they did not have any in stock. They won't be getting any until September!! The sales lady suggested we order a "unstuffed" one online and have it stuffed at the store. I am so thankful to have son who doesn't throw a fit when things don't go his way.
We then went to the Coach store and I saw 2 pretty bags. The first was the Mini Brooklyn and the other was the Mini Bleeker. They were both cross body bags which is more my style. We ended up leaving without making a purchase. We did make a small purchase at the Lego store though. If you have a Lego Discovery Center or a Lego Park near by, they have coupons in their Lego magazines that they give out for free, for a free child entrance to either parks.
I went to Sephora and bought Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick in Melted Violet. I have not tried it on yet but it looked so pretty on my wrist.
We then walked into Michael Kors and I bought a black cross body bag. I forgot the name of it but will post pictures soon.
Afterwards we had lunch at our favorite Chick-Fil-A then went to the Apple store to figure out why the Internet crashes when he tried to use his iPad. I also went to Lush but I don't think I have enough privacy in a day to take a quite relaxing bath anytime soon.
We then drove to ULTA to get Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation. I also bought the Anastasia Amrezy Palette which is so pretty. It was an unexpected buy because I mainly went there to get the Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I must go now; time to enjoy my birthday Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll.
Cake,Love,and Happiness...What more could a girl want:)
Flowers for Me???
I'm not really 1 years old!!
Beautiful
Wow, I can't believe how fast another year has passed. Today I spent it with the ones that matter the most. Frank and Alex made me a delicious birthday cake. I thought they forgot that I asked them to make me one last week. I was so happy when they asked if they could still bake it for me this morning. I'm a simple kind of girl. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Frank asked me where I wanted to go for breakfast, honestly I just wanted some frosted flakes and toast. He went to work for a few hours so me and Alex headed out to Hobby Lobby and Target. A YouTube friend of mine, ShaySpeaks, told me about Target having beauty products on sale. I picked up 2 Sally Hansen polishes,1 Loreal lip gloss, 1 toothpaste, and an activity book for $10.00. I posted a video on my channel if you want to check it out. For dinner, we went to Chili's. My sister in law came over with these beautiful roses and enjoyed cake with us. As I am writing this post, its still 20 minutes until the day is over. There is one person who has not called me or text me or emailed me. I am hoping she does. If she doesn't, I think I will be OK but kind of sad. I thank God for these 34 years He has blessed me with and praying to have many more so I can see my future grand babies.
